Semi-abstract final piece for a school project a few years ago. Centres of objects such as a clock, wheel, pinecone, flower and shell are included in the piece. Acrylic on canvas.

The big blue thing is distracting.

Its the outline of a shell from one of my other pictures, in the actual thing its a lot clearer. The idea of it was to draw your eye around the different shapes and into the centre, i guess it didnt work that well tho ol :P

Oooh this is eye catching. I disagree with the person who didn't like the shell outline - I think it is very effective at drawing the eye in; I spent a lot longer than normal looking at this! (and I don't just glance then start commenting..)

The different textures in this work very well indeed - between the smoothness and the rough texture of the ?flower in the top left hand corver, ones eye is kept looking around for more detail - and it provides.

An excellent piece, and I'm afraid I've never seen anything quite like it, nor with quite the same context! (but that's a good thing in the case of this contest!) :)
